Your Hair is what you Eat

The top 5 foods to eat for luscious hair

Nutritious food not only is healthy for our bodies, but actually restores the nutrients and fibres and protein in our hair. These are the top 5 foods to eat for stronger and shinier strands. Brown Rice is a very well known food for those trying to be healthy, so it's no surprise that it is on the top of our list for your hair. it helps with the hairs elasticity and stimulates hair cell renewal. Chia seeds improve the integrity of keratin, which in turn creates thick and voluminous locks. Third on our list are organic eggs. They are high in zinc, sulphur and choline. The 3 vitamins allow for stronger fibres, flexibility the decrease in split ends. With the summer season fast approaching, knowing Figs help in hair regrowth will only make eating them that much more fun. Food that is high in iron, such as fig, stimulates hair regrowth and improves hair strength and fullness. Last but definatly not least on our list is olives. being rich in vitamin E allows for this food to be ideal for hair growth and vitality, with the oil in the olive keeping hair soft and flexible. Including olives in your daily diet can ensure your hair stays soft and flexible. Although don't be disillusioned, having olives with your martini don't count!

Gatsby Hair Inspiration

With The Great Gatsby lighting up the sliver screen, many of this year’s hair, fashion, and beauty trends relate to the Roaring Twenties, which means it is a great time to try romantic pin curls, especially for special summer occasions. To use this piece of 1920s inspiration, mid-length locks work best. If that’s your style, artfully constructed pin-curls and finger-waves can give you a contemporary version of this classic retro vibe. For our styling tips, click the notes.
Step: Prep hair with protective thickening lotion. Take a deep side parting. Section hair from the top of the crown to the ear.
Step: Now take half-inch horizontal sections starting from the top. Subdivide those horizontal sections into three or four vertical sections. Now use an iron to create curl in these sections.
Step: The iron size will determine the tightness of the wave. Use a 3/4-inch iron for a definitive, flapper-inspired 1920s look. Or, for something softer and less curly, a bigger barreled iron is better. Either way, wrap hair on the iron going towards the face. Do this throughout the side, creating rows until you run out of hair.
Step: Pin curl clip these curls to head; spray with primp working spray; allow to cool; release clips.
Step: Brush out with a flat brush and form the wave with hands.
Step: To create an updo out of this texture, simply pin up the back with bobby pins.

THE STIGMA BEHIND THE SALON BLOW DRY

The stigma behind the salon blow dry or roller-set tent to conjure images of romantic, pretty, commercial hair. But it doesn't always have to be that way.
With extreme volume, super smoothness, and gorgeous, billowing shape this long length with minimal layering –– i.e: a very, very basic cut –– is turned into a vanguard look.
Volume like this is an attention-grabbing way to wear the hair –– save for date night or party time with the girls!
Step: Towel-dry hair to damp. Turn head upside down and liberally apply KEVIN.MURPHY.BODY.BUILDER at the roots and YOUNG.AGAIN on the mid-lengths and ends.
Step: Keep head upside down as you blow dry on high heat. Blow Dry in at the roots while using hands to lift hair up, creating maximum root lift. Continue till hair is dry and warm.
Step: Part hair in the middle. For most people very slightly off of center works better than dead center. With hair still warm, wind mid-size velcro rollers onto hair. Allow hair to cool and unwind rollers –– about ten or fifteen minutes. This quick roller set will aid fullness and, especially, smoothness.
Step: Brush hair out. Focus on a full shape.
Step: For a final hit of texture and volume, mist TEXTURE MASTER OR SESSION SPRAY through the style and scrunch, scrunch, scrunch –– it will instantly swell and bulge the texture.

TIP: Use the texture master if you like to create a more voluminous look.
