Katy Perry GHD Christmas

Global brand ambassador Katy Perry reveals a series of stunning new hair looks for ghd’s latest Christmas campaign.

Shot by renowned fashion photographer Ellen von Unwerth in Los Angeles at the end of Katy’s world tour, the campaign reveals Katy in a series of striking scenarios - one of which shows Katy in a shimmering dress for the ghd metallic collection.
"It was fun to go a more natural route after playing characters in my last ghd campaign,” said Katy. “Ellen von Unwerth captured both the playful and chic looks amazingly well."

The classic yet fashion forward images see Katy with an array of covetable, wearable hair looks and exuding confidence – a positive message to inspire millions of women to have a good hair day, every day.
“Our new campaign brings the ghd brand promise of a ‘good hair day, every day’ to life,” said Paul Stoneham, Chief Executive Officer, ghd. “Katy and Ellen have created something really special in these images, capturing the essence of ghd today.”

Metallic Summer Trend

Metallic Trend Alert

This week was packed with parties and premieres, so we kept our eyes on all of the red carpet happenings to fill you in on the trends that are on the rise —

Shimmery metallics: The holiday season doesn’t start for another month or so, but it looks like celebs are already test-driving shiny party looks. This week alone, Eva Longoria donned a copper number, Mandy Moore sported a shiny black frock and Kelly Osborne wore a silver sheath. You can count on seeing similarly shimmery styles until just after New Year’s Eve.

Whether its a sheer sweep of eye shadow or a shinycoat of nail polish, silver is the perfect edgy accent for day and night….

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Start with a metallic silver eyeshadow over the whole lid.

2. Apply a small amount of dark eyeshadow to the outer corners of the lid.

3. Using a pencil brush, use the same dark eyeliner and continue the dark line underneath the eye.

4. Use a very bright white metallic eyeshadow to brighten up the inner corners of the eye.

5. Add a coat of mascara, and voila!

6 Common Heat Styling Mistakes

6 Common Heat Styling Mistakes

Avoid these common styling iron mistakes for sleek, straight hair with minimal damage.

1. CRANKING UP THE HEAT - ALL THE WAY

You don't need to turn your irons up to their max temperature this will only over heat and dry finer hair types.

2. FORGETTING PROTECTION

Not enough people use heat/thermal protectors. Lattouf recommend KMS FreeShape Hot Flex Spray to protect your hair and keep a flexable style longer.

3. RUNNING OVER (AND OVER AND OVER) CURLS

Instread of going over and over your hair and leaving it dry and damaged. Get hair as straight as possible before ironing by stretching out each section with a brush. Then slide the iron slowly and steadily in a single pass. Don't stop and go, or you'll get horizontal lines.

4. GOING BOARD STRAIGHT

Instead of ironing hair straight, parallel to your face, move your arm in a C shape as you proceed down the hair, and bend the ends under.

5. IRONING DAMP HAIR

If you hear a sizzling sound or see steam, well...it ain't good.

6. THINKING BIGGER IS BETTER

Some think that the larger the iron the better, this is not always the case. Instead choose a straightener with ceramic or tourmaline plates that are an inch wide.
