Super Sleek Hair at Carlos Alberto’s NYFW Show

 

Carlos Alberto, a Puerto Rican based Haute Couture designer first gained success within the beauty pageant world, designing the outfits for all the Miss Universe 2009 candidates. His presentation at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2014 was all about extravagance –– a nod to his past, perhaps. Carlos showcased the spirit of grand splendor by opening the show with a collection of sexy white fringed swim suits and closing with several glitzy floor length pieces decorated in sequins, stones, pearls, feathers, and satin trims. Just apposing the elaborate attire were the super sleek ponytails donned by all the models, pushing the looks from pageant to couture. Ponytails continue to be a staple among the fashionable due to their easy maintenance and versatility. So whether you’re donning a Swarovski encrusted gown or cashmere sweatpants, see the step by step on  how to wear a super sleek pony. 

Step: Spray in thermal spray and KEVIN.MURPHY YOUNG.AGAIN into dry hair and use a ghd to straighten and smooth.
Step: Once all hair is straightened,  pull length in to a high ponytail using a LATTOUF PADDLE BRUSH. Make sure to pull hair back tightly. If needed, use the end of a rat tail comb to pull back and flatten snags or flyaways. Spray crown with KEVIN MURPHY SESSION SPRAY.
Step: Secure length with an elastic. Leave out a two inch section of hair and wrap around base of pony tail, hiding the elastic. Secure with pins and spray again with SESSION.SPRAY.
