Hair Color Inspiration: Golden Mahogany

Dark woody brown layered with panels of bright gold has the mesmerizing warmth of a crackling fire. Bright hair is great cure for winter doldrums, giving a healthy glow to sun-deprived skin. Lighter tones on the underside break up shadows and, by illuminating the interior, makes locks look thick and shiny. There’s great styling too –– an angled fringe frames the face and flows seamlessly into turned-out flips and soft waves. To get these fire-lit locks in a few steps, SEE BELOW.

HOW TO:

Step: This look is composed of only two colours, yet the placement creates the illusion of numerous shades. A dark colour sits atop light with panels of the brighter shade woven through the interior of the darker section. To get this look, ask for a mixture of block colouring and hand panting, which provides a seamless melding of the shades.

Step: A long layered cut will reveal submerged brightness by carving away weight around the face. The swing bang shifts darker colour forward accentuating the eyes.
Step: For the style shown here, prep hair with a handful of KEVIN.MURPHY BODY BUILDER, which adds volume and moisture. Dry with a ceramic brush, twirling strands away from the face, then finish with a few pumps of KEVIN MUPHY YOUNG AGAIN applid to the tips.
