At London premiere of Thor: The Dark World, Kat Dennings gave us a lesson in classic beauty, teaming a creamy red lip with perfect skin; bold brows; neutral eye shadow; and soft, modern waves in her hair. It's an easy look to copy provided you go slowly, starting with a matte base to ensure your skin looks as flawless as possible. Fill your brows in next, and then build up a light smoky eye using mid-browns and shimmering pale bronze. Top with plenty of black mascara, and then turn your attention to those lips. A lip liner is essential to keep red lipstick in place; use it all over the lips instead of just around the edges, and it'll act like a glue for the colour itself (plus, you'll never end up with visible lip line if the lipstick wears off). Apply the lipstick in two coats, blotting in between. As for your hair, use a wide-barrel tong or iron to create natural-looking waves on sections of various sizes, or, if you're lucky enough to have naturally wavy hair, let it dry naturally, and use Kerastase gloss appeal to smooth away any frizz.

The American Music Awards seem to always carry the most unique hair styles, and Kelly Osbourne did just that. Walking the red carpet with her purple bangs hanging just above her beautifully shaped eyebrows, Osbourne had the rest of her hair pulled back into a large braid, outlined with gold studs. We love this look!  A feminine style from the front, turned into a twisted punk look from the sides and back. The different shades of purple in her hair are softened by the natural make up she carried on the night. Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are engaged!

Unless you're living in a world with no Internet or TV, you've heard the news: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are engaged! The rapper popped the question to Kim, who is the mother to their daughter, North West, on her 33rd birthday. Needless to say, this has been a huge year for Kim, and she's had a bevy of makeup looks to mark each and every one of her special occasions. So we're rounding up her best looks of 2013 . . . oh, and having a little Champagne toast to congratulate the newly engaged couple.

There will also be a special boxed set featuring Over & Over A-Gwen, a bold red lacquer that pays homage to Gwen's signature red lip, and Swarovski Elements, a nail art kit consisting of nail glue, black crystals, and metallic studs in bar, circle, square, and diamond shapes.

Retro Glamour

 

This gorgeous chestnut brown single process colour captures the wonder of winter beauty trends. The long-length cut with minimal layering is a great example of the glamour of voluminous tresses, created with a blow-dry or hot roller set. Reminiscent of the 1920s, with a creative modern twist, it works day or night.

Step: On wet hair, apply Kevin.Murphy.Stickey.Business and a pump of Kevin.Murphy Young.Again and apply from roots to ends.

Step: If setting by blow-dry, use large round brush to wrap sections into rolls and pin in place. Alternatively, use hot rollers or a set in salon.

Step: Once set is dry, use your blow-dryer to apply some cool air. This strengthens the set.

Step: Release pins or unwind rollers. Brush out the set using flat brush. Focus on creating waves with smoothness.
