Retro Glamour

This gorgeous chestnut brown single process colour captures the wonder of winter beauty trends. The long-length cut with minimal layering is a great example of the glamour of voluminous tresses, created with a blow-dry or hot roller set. Reminiscent of the 1920s, with a creative modern twist, it works day or night.

Step: On wet hair, apply Kevin.Murphy.Stickey.Business and a pump of Kevin.Murphy Young.Again and apply from roots to ends.

Step: If setting by blow-dry, use large round brush to wrap sections into rolls and pin in place. Alternatively, use hot rollers or a set in salon.

Step: Once set is dry, use your blow-dryer to apply some cool air. This strengthens the set.

Step: Release pins or unwind rollers. Brush out the set using flat brush. Focus on creating waves with smoothness.

Step: Finish and smooth with a touch of Kevin Murphy Shimmer Shine for a reflective shine on hair and Session Spray for extra hold and structure. Create a romantic flowing shape. Use pins if you need to fix hair away from the face.

Dita Von Teese 60's Styled Celebrity Icon

Retro Waves Do It Again for Dita Von Teese

Bewitching fifties throwback, Dita Von Teese, appeared at this past weekend’s International Beauty Show, New York –– an beauty industry merry-go-round of new trends and techniques, fashions and styles –– in her signature, era-inspired get-up. A stylized, shoulder-grazing glamor wave, her hair is the quintessential example of timeless elegance, beauty and grace; the romantic shapeliness evokes the epoch of Hollywood. The raven color, meanwhile, complements her stark complexion, and the deep side-part opens her striking face-frame. Being stylized, most mid-length styles can be shaped like Dita’s; to learn how, visit your nearest Lattouf Hair & Day Spa or see our home style tips below.

Step: To start prep hair with heat protector then apply KEVIN MURPHY FULL AGAIN to the mid length and ends of hair. Add KMS FREESHAPE for longlasting support and shine.
Step: Create big curls with a large barrel curling iron. Use pin-curl clips to pin these curls as they set. Allow to cool and unclip.
Step: Gently brush out curls until they become softer and more free-flowing, like a waterfall.
Step: Using outside arch of eyebrow as a guide, create a deep side part. Pin short side behind ear. Pus the long side back and away from the face, allowing romantic waves to tumble down the face-frame, neck and shoulders.
Step: To finish mist with KEVIN MURPHY SESSION SPRAY to keep in place.
